Become a real witness to a child—not another evaluator.
Every project group needs at least one trained mentor under supervision. AI may organize and remind, but it cannot replace stable, transparent, supervised human support.
MENTOR SCREENING
Respect, steadiness, and clear boundaries matter more than having advice to give.
A mentor is not a life guru, course salesperson, or rescuer. The role is project witness, curator, and keeper of safe boundaries.
Listen well
Remain emotionally steady and receive expression without rushing to lecture or solve.
Keep boundaries visible
No private contact exchange, secret relationships, or service promotion through nonprofit access.
Use little power
Do not seek control or rescue. Accept documentation, reflection, and supervision.
Stay for the cycle
Complete at least one project cycle and report risks or boundary concerns promptly.
CERTIFICATION & LEVELS
Permission comes from training, assessment, and continuing supervision.
A referral or professional background never bypasses training, interviews, trial facilitation, and safety review.
Project assistant
Complete foundational training in child safety, specific noticing, and escalation rules.
May assist a group but cannot independently lead a group of younger children.Group mentor
Demonstrate LIFE-S, project facilitation, group dynamics, risk recognition, and guardian communication boundaries.
After certification, may independently lead one approved group.Supervisor
Demonstrate complex-case judgment, mentor supervision, risk response, referral, and training skills.
May supervise mentors and provide final human review for high-risk events.Willingness to train and be supervised is the starting point.
